For a home or business door
Say which entrance is involved: your own unit, the main building door, a shop front or a separate staff door. Mention whether you can still get inside and whether the trouble is with turning the key, moving the handle or closing the door.
If someone else owns or manages the property, explain who can authorize the work. A shared entrance may need that person's involvement before changes are arranged.
For a car key or lockout
Have the year, make and model ready, and say whether any key still starts the vehicle. Give the car's actual parking location, even if you're waiting at a nearby station or business. Mention a supplied blank, controlled gate or vehicle on a trailer.
